 Welcome to the San Francisco and Bay Area local chapter of N.O.W. (the National Organization for Women now.org and canow.org). Our main purpose is to represent the grassroots interests of women and girls. That is why it is important to hear from you. On April 28th we are joining together united in solidarity with all women to make a loud and clear statement that women must be treated as equals deserving dignity and the right to decisions dealing with their own healthcare. The National Organization for Women supports the work of Planned Parenthood and we share the opinion of feminists everywhere condemning the Susan Komen Foundation's politically motivated, anti-choice, defunding of breast cancer screening. On November 9, 2011, a coalition supported by CANOW and SFNOW submitted the California Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act to the State Attorney General for title and summary, prior to circulation as an initiative measure for the November 2012 election.
